While in school, she worked with Oklahoma Children's Theatre as an actor, teacher, and a part of their literacy outreach program. During her senior year she founded Paige's Planet, an organization and social media campaign dedicated to promoting preservation and science education through the arts. Through this platform, she has taught standard-based workshops at schools, preserves, nonprofits, YMCAs, and many more. She has been featured as a woman changing the world on GenHERation and on local news outlets as an expert/ environmentalist regarding sharks, alligators, and the environment. She continues to manage the Tarpon Springs Aquarium and further her education. She is proud to be a part of Blue-Green Connections and everything it stands for. Tony Leotta

Director

Tony has been a resident of Palm Harbor since 1979 and from a young age has spent most of his life in, on, and around the bays, bayous, and open waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Tony studied marine biology at Florida Atlantic University and worked at several public aquariums throughout Florida including the Tarpon Springs Aquarium. He found his passion in educating people about the ocean and went back to school to earn his B.S. in Biology for Secondary Science Education. Tony has been teaching high school marine biology for over 25 years using his skills and personal experiences with the ocean to write marine science curriculum at a county, state, and national level. To foster sustainable living, Tony and his marine science students have created large scale hydroponic and aquaponic gardens at his school that conserve thousands of gallons of water per year without releasing harmful fertilizers into our local waterways.
